Job Details: Experienced Freelance DSA Needs Assessor

Are you a charismatic individual with an enthusiasm to support students with disabilities and specific learning differences? Are you able to demonstrate your ability to listen to students and assess their individual needs? Do you have a passion for helping vulnerable students achieve their higher education dreams? Join A2B Assessments as a freelancer, and you will be provided with comprehensive training as well as a generous remuneration package.

Role Description:

Working independently, you will be required to travel to an office(s) within proximity to your home. 

Locations with vacancies include:

Bath, Cambridge, Carlisle, Chester, Coventry, Exeter, Hull, Ipswich, Lincoln, Norwich and Sheffield.

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and conducting assessment interviews to determine any technical and/or human support needed for the student, interpreting any submitted evidence to justify the provision of the recommended support.
  • Producing and providing detailed reports to students and funding bodies whilst completing the required administration and record keeping.
  • Liaising with our internal Quality Assurance Team to ensure all reports meet our internal standards.

Qualities required:

  • Knowledge and/or experience of studying in a Higher Education setting.
  • Excellent verbal communication with the ability to provide clear support, advice and guidance to students.
  • Ability to actively listen and maintain a fluid conversation whilst documenting the information received.
  • Compassionate listening skills. 
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills.
  • Robust written skills with the ability to write clear and concise reports that are within the legislative framework.
  • Strong and transferable IT Skills that can be used to work efficiently across our systems as well as demonstrate software to students.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise your own workload.
